About Halley

The most famous comet, visible from Earth every 75-79 years. Last appeared in 1986, next in 2061. First comet recognized as periodic by Edmond Halley in 1705. Its appearances have been recorded for over 2,000 years. Nucleus is potato-shaped, roughly 15 km long. Produces two types of tails: dust and ion.
